More Exciting Reinforcements: Winger Liam Thomas and Midfielder Taylor Thain join Druids

There was more action behind the scenes at the club before deadline day, as Liam Thomas and Taylor Thain have put pen to paper until the end of the season.
With the departures of Joe Faux and Ben Wynne this month, it was imperative we added new attacking options to the squad, and we are thrilled to have Liam and Taylor on board.
Liam Thomas came up through the Derby County and Shrewsbury Town academies and has more recently spent time at Newtown AFC, earning experience in Welsh football. Primarily a left winger, Liam can play anywhere along the front three. Still only 19 years of age, he has great pace on and off the ball, is confident in 1 v 1 scenarios and will surely be a great addition to our attacking options.
“I’m hoping to contribute with some goals and assists for the team. I feel the energy I bring every game will do some good for my teammates around me,” he said.
Taylor Thain has also joined the squad. Originally from Scotland, he moved to Australia at a young age and began his footballing career there. After moving back to the UK as a teenager he has played in the youth sides at Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Aldershot Town before moving up into first team football with Bangor City FC for the past few seasons.
Also only 19, he has a great career ahead of him and has shown his qualities in recent trainings and matches. A strong, hardworking central midfielder, Taylor has come in to bolster our options in the centre of the park.
He spoke to us about the move,
“I am delighted to have joined Cefn Druids and I’m really looking forward to working and learning from the gaffer here. I just want to work hard individually and for the team, and pick up as many points as we can between now and the end of the season.”
We are thrilled to have them both on board after a very busy January for the club. We would like to wish them a big welcome to Cefn Druids!
More than just a football club.
