Match Report: Druids vs Holyhead Hotspur

An excellent display from Druids in blistering conditions at The Rock saw two first half goals enough for a well-earned victory.

Very tough conditions for both sides as temperatures soared just above 30 degrees at The Rock yesterday afternoon. However, Druids still managed to put on another solid performance to make it back to back wins in the league.

Goals from Ross Weaver and a header from Phil Mooney in the first half put us in prime position going into the break. We looked to stay organised and solid in the second half to see out the win. However, the lads continued to put on the pressure and could have had a few more despite some good defending from Holyhead.

In the end it finished 2-0 to Druids. A fine performance with plenty of encouraging signs. Was great to see that our solid build up play had a final product, with 2 well taken goals. Again, another mention must be made to the outstanding efforts of our EDS players stepping up into the first team. They continue working their socks off for the club and haven’t looked out of place in first team football at all. Manager Neil Ashton will be happy with the performance as his side continues to gel together.

Next up, a big test for Druids when we travel to Llandudno Town on Friday night!

Come on you Druids!
