Match Report: Druids vs Castell Alun Colts

An excellent performance and result for Druids yesterday in round four of the NEWFA Mens Senior Challenge Cup! It finished 5-0 at The Rock.

It was a chance for some of our new signings to get some minutes in the legs and gel with the squad yesterday afternoon. Despite the score line, it was a competitive match at The Rock. Full credit to Castell Alun Colts who gave a solid account of themselves, keeping Druids on their toes for the full 90 minutes.

It was great for some of our new signings to get on the scoresheet which will surely boost theirs and the squad’s confidence going into our next match and the return of the league. Josh Lock grabbed two fine goals in the 24th and 90th minute, Adam Stephens also scored a brace with new striker Callum Stephens coming off the bench to grab a goal on his debut!

A great afternoon overall for Druids. But another quick turnaround for the lads as we are back in action on Wednesday night in another cup game! We play round one of the newly formed second tier WBS League Cup, away at Porthmadog FC.

More than just a football club.
