Match Report: Druids vs Buckley Town FC

A solid battle and tight game at The Rock last night. Another strong performance from a youthful Druids side, however a well taken freekick was enough for the visitors to grab a 1-0 win.
It was a short turn around for Druids after our win away at Ruthin Town on Tuesday night. A youthful side came out at The Rock looking to progress to round 3 of the Nathaniel MG Cup.
It was another strong performance from Druids who battled hard against an experienced Buckley side. A very close game with both sides creating chances to win it. However, it ended up coming down to a moment of quality from Buckley midfielder Iwan Jones. A fine free kick found the corner of the net on 21 minutes.
Druids kept fighting for an equaliser in the second half and played some nice football, putting the pressure on Buckley. However, our opponents stayed solid and organised to hold out for the win and progress to round 3 of the Nathaniel MG Cup.
We’d like to thank Buckley for a solid, competitive match and wish them luck in the next round. Druids are back in the JD Cymru North next Saturday when we welcome Holyhead Hotspur to The Rock.
More than just a football club.
