Match Report: Druids Futsal vs PF Cymru

Another outstanding performance from Druids Futsal as we finish the Northern League on a high, with a 16-0 win over PF Cymru to make it 8 wins out of 8.
It was our final game of the Northern League before we play the winners of the Southern league over a 2-legged playoff final. The match kicked off and Druids went straight to work, pressing high and creating chances. The lads wasted no time breaking the deadlock as we scored in the 6th minute. Doherty finishing off a well worked phase of play. Druids showed their class as they racked up another 8 goals before half time, even goalkeeper Stewart Evans got on the scoresheet with a powerful strike from just inside the PF Cymru half.
In the second half PF Cymru improved but it wasn’t enough to challenge Druids as they dominated possession. The goal scoring continued through Rogers, Doherty and Williams to make it 13-0 with 10 minutes to go. Manager Richie Jones decided to go Fly and see the game out, within that period Rogers acting as the Fly Goalkeeper added another 2 and Dobson rounded things off with a cheeky chip over 2 players to tap home. Credit to Connor Wells in the PF Cymru goal as if it wasn’t for him making some outstanding saves it could have been more.
The game ended 16-0 leaving the Druids team with lots of confidence as they prepare for their two-legged final against the Southern winners.
The first leg is at home for Druids on the 3rd April with the away fixture on the 10th. The winners over the two matches will book their place as Wales’ representatives in the UEFA Futsal Champions League. Another huge opportunity for our lads and we wish them all the best for the final!
