Match Report: Brymbo FC Reserves 0-2 Druids EDS

Another terrific performance from Jordan Hadaway’s men on Saturday. Our EDS showed quality, confidence and intensity against Brymbo, running out 2-0 winners.
It was a difficult opening 20 minutes or so for Druids as they came to grips with the surface and conditions. Brymbo were organised and compact, pressing high up the pitch, trying to draw out mistakes from our EDS. A change of structure in our midfield by manager Jordan Hadaway proved to be effective as we began getting a lot more ball and got our attacking players into better positions around their box. The lads began to grow in confidence thereon and started dominating the game. Getting the ball in wide areas and driving at the Brymbo defence, we eventually broke them down on 31 minutes. A great team move, starting from the back all the way through to forward Eric Durnell who made no mistake, finishing into the bottom corner. 1-0 Druids.
The second period began, and our EDS showed no signs of slowing down. A great attitude to continue their intensity to win the ball back after losing it. It was only a matter of time before we got a second goal after numerous chances. Oscar Herd sealed the win via brilliant pressing off the ball. He won it high up the pitch off the Brymbo defence, drove towards goal and slotted it home to make it 2-0.
It was the 8th clean sheet for our EDS, who are second in the league, only 3 points behind leaders TNS.
“The performance was professional and was topped off with great attitude, application and quality. It was a joy to watch,” said manager Jordan Hadaway.
The EDS are having a brilliant season so far and sealed another great result on Saturday against Brymbo. Well done all, and we look forward to seeing them in action again soon!
More than just a football club.
