Tomorrow afternoon, Druids make the trip south to take on Haverfordwest County in another important match against a bottom 6 side.
From the end of September into this month, The Bluebirds had been on a 5 match unbeaten run, with impressive wins over Flint and Cardiff Met along with a draw against The Nomads at home. However, they have lost their last 2 matches and will be looking to return to winning ways tomorrow afternoon.
The Bluebirds last played on Saturday the 16th at Bridge Meadow against Bala Town in the fourth round of the Welsh Cup. A Chris Venables hattrick confirmed the win for Bala in a tough afternoon for the home side.
Our history with our opponents is quite positive. Of the four times we played them last season, Druids won twice at The Rock, along with a 1-1 draw and 2-0 loss at Bridge Meadow. So some good results for Druids against Haverfordwest in the past and hopefully our first three points at Bridge Meadow comes tomorrow.
Over to us now; we come off a disappointing 1-0 home loss to Aberystwyth on the 13th. Again, a much improved performance from Druids where we created a lot of good opportunities, but were just unable to apply the finishing touch. We will be looking to be more clinical tomorrow if we are to to get a positive result.
The lads have been working hard in training this week and are eager to tighten the gap between us and the other bottom six sides. It is looking to be a wet, windy affair on the grass at Bridge Meadow, which will add another factor that the players will need to adapt to quickly. It is shaping up to be a very exciting game and we look forward to getting out there!
