Match Preview: Barry Town v Druids

After a weekend off, the Cymru Premier returns this weekend as Druids make the trip south to take on Barry Town United.

Barry come into this game off the back of two successive 1-1 draws against Aberystwyth and Haverfordwest, and are currently sitting 8th in the league. Their last win was through an impressive performance away at Caernarfon Town at the end of October, where it finished 2-1 Barry.

We last played our upcoming opponents on matchday 3 of the season at The Rock. Druids took an early lead that day through George Harry, however a brace for both Kayne McLaggon and Clayton Green saw Barry complete the comeback and run out 4-1 winners. Druids will need to be organised and prepared tomorrow if we are to rectify that result and get some much needed points on the board.

We come into this game with a bit of confidence after a well-earned 1-1 draw against high-flying Flint Town last Tuesday. The lads showed a high work rate for the entire match and were very close to holding out The Silkmen for all 3 points. After a solid week’s training, we are aiming to keep that intensity for our trip to Jenner Park tomorrow.

Some team news now: Charley Edge is unfortunately suspended for tomorrow’s match after picking up his 5th yellow card of the season against Flint Town. Niall Flint also received a late red card in that game and will be unavailable. George Harry is a doubt through injury. Despite this, we have a large squad, and it gives opportunities for other players to step in and make their mark.

It’s an early start and long coach journey for the lads tomorrow. But we are eager to get down there, put on a positive display and come home with some much needed points!

For those wanting to keep up with the game, there will be live updates on our Twitter page.

Come on you Druids!
