Match Preview: Aberystwyth Town vs Druids

Another big fixture tomorrow night as Druids make the trip to Aberystwyth Town for Matchday 21.

It is looking to be a tight affair tomorrow as the bottom two sides battle it out for an all-important 3 points. Aber are coming off a disappointing 4-0 away loss at Penybont last Friday where ex Druid Alex Darlington received a straight red card for a lunging challenge and will be suspended for tomorrow’s match. Our opponents will be looking for a reaction tomorrow night at Park Avenue to ensure they get all 3 points.

Druids come into this game after a 3-1 home defeat to Caernarfon Town last week. A late Phil Mooney goal put some hope of a comeback, but our opponents held out for the win in the end. It will be a welcome return to the squad for Charley Edge and Emmanuel Agyemang who have both served their suspensions. Yalany Baio remains side-lined for 2 more games due to suspension and fullback Max Davidson is a doubt through injury.

Our last trip to Park Avenue back in September last year was manager Andy Turner’s first match in charge of Druids. He will be looking for the lads to continue the solid work-rate they have been showing in games and just add some better final product to get our first win of the season.

We last played Aber at The Rock back in October 2021. A very tight 1-0 win for The Seasiders after a first half header by Lee Jenkins was enough for our opponents to get the win. Druids created plenty of chances that game and could have at least got a draw. We will have to be more clinical in front of goal tomorrow if we are to get a positive result.

Good news for those who can’t make the trip to Aberystwyth. Live match commentary will be broadcast on Radio Aber for fans and followers to listen along, so you don’t miss any of the action. Links to the radio station will be posted on our social media pages.

It is looking to be a great match under the lights tomorrow night. The lads have worked hard in training this week to prepare and are ready to get going.

Come on you Druids!
