An early start tomorrow as we travel to Haverfordwest for a midday kick-off in our final match of the season!
Both ourselves and the Bluebirds are on a lengthy run without a win and will be looking to change that tomorrow and finish the season on a high. We are undefeated so far this season against our upcoming opponents with two wins and a draw. Our last meeting with Haverfordwest was at The Rock back in early April for the opening game of Phase 1. A 2-1 win for the Druids with Charley Edge scoring the winner in the 89th minute. However, our last trip to Bridge Meadow earlier in the season was an agonising affair. Joe Faux gave Druids the lead early in the second half, only for the Bluebirds to equalise from a freekick in the dying seconds. Last minute goals are plentiful in this fixture and a similar entertaining affair could occur again tomorrow.
Haverfordwest last played on Saturday the 8th May at home to Newtown in a tight 2-1 loss. The Robins scored off two set pieces which may be an area Druids will look to exploit tomorrow. Haverfordwest were disappointed at the result as they created a number of great opportunities in the second half that they were unable to convert. They will be looking to be more clinical tomorrow and give Druids a real test.
Again, it will be an opportunity for our younger academy prospects to get more experience in the league, as Druids finish the season with a depleted squad due to injuries and suspensions. Jacob Wise will be missing after receiving a red card last weekend at Cardiff Met, however Josh Green has recovered from an injury picked up in training and should be available. Discipline has been an issue for Druids in recent weeks with 3 red cards in our last 5 games. Controlled aggression will be important tomorrow to get a positive result.
It will be a big chance for Druids to finish the season on a better note. We have a good record against the Bluebirds, which will give us confidence travelling to Bridge Meadow tomorrow.
