FIFA Decision: Druid’s Transfers
Cefn Druids FC can confirm that, following the decision of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, we have received a transfer ban for three transfer windows, effective January 2023.
Despite the robust recruitment procedures in place at the club, the ban is in relation to the former management team and club administrators signing an international player in season 2021/22 without following those procedures and breaching FIFA transfer guidelines. The club has appealed the decision and is awaiting further clarification before deciding on the next course of action to be taken.
We are disappointed to find ourselves in this position when the error should have been avoided by following our internal policy by those that know better and have the experience to properly handle club transfers.
The ban does not affect the Foundation Phases, the Futsal team or the Womens Team.
We will announce all updates on the club’s appeal when the outcome is reached.
