We are pleased to announce the initial Elite Development Squad (EDS) and U19s have been selected for the coming season, along with finalising their training schedule and program.
After playing three trial games, fitness testing and several hours of video analysis, the initial squads have been selected and will now begin their exciting summer training regime.
The EDS players will train three times a week with games at the weekend, have a strength and conditioning programme to supplement any prehab & rehab sessions, while also having most of their home games videotaped and analysed. The EDS players that reached the minimum fitness standards will also be registered to play for the First Team in the Cymru Premier League and will be invited to train with the senior team as long as they maintain the fitness standards set.
The U19s will train twice a week and have the same prehab & rehab routines as well as a lighter version of the strength and conditioning programme. Players will also get the chance to step up to the EDS and, again, if they meet the minimum fitness standards, they too will be registered to play for the senior team.
An exciting season lies ahead for both squads, with plenty of opportunities to progress at their disposal. At the end of last season, a number of our academy players got their chance to play for the senior team and did not look off the pace! We look forward to getting the squads in and will hopefully uncover some more future first team stars!
