As we return from our coordinated boycott of social media over the bank holiday weekend, we prepare for our final home game of the season this evening when we host Flint Town at The Rock.
With three games to go of the season, Druids are facing a number of injuries, suspensions and absences from the first team squad. It has been a credit to our academy players for stepping up and giving their all in these times, and it looks like they will need to again tonight. Max Pritchard, Brad Knight, Mitchell Williams and Harry Fuller have been ready for their chance and proved there are opportunities for the younger players at Druids.
We last played Flint Town at The Essity Stadium in early April in a disappointing 5-0 loss to The Silkmen. A match we simply didn’t turn up for. Druids will be looking to make things right tonight and avenge that result. Our opponents last played on Saturday at home to Haverfordwest, winning 2-0 after a solid performance. Flint are equal on points with Aberystwyth in 5th place and only three points behind fourth. They will be looking to finish the season as high as possible.
Some team news for Druids; Aaron Simpson, Ryan Kershaw and Phil Mooney are all doubts with injury while Ethan Cartwright is available and will be looking to come straight back into the squad to bolster our midfield. Our academy graduates are all available and will be eager to prove themselves if given the nod tonight.
With three games to go, Druids will be looking to give a better account of ourselves after tough loses to Newtown and Aberystwyth and set a precedent for next season. We hope this will be our final home game without our fans in attendance but follow our Twitter page for live match updates.
Come on you Druids!
More than just a football club.
