Tomorrow evening we host Aberystwyth Town at The Rock in an important match for both sides based off recent form.
After finishing Phase 1 on a high, winning 10 out of a possible 12 points at home, Aber have struggled since the beginning of Phase 2, with three consecutive losses. They will be looking for a reaction tomorrow night when they arrive at The Rock and it should make for an entertaining match! They last played on Friday the 16th at home to Flint Town in a narrow 1-0 loss. It seemed Aber created enough opportunities to equalise and even win the game, however, were unable to convert on the night.
Druids played out a tight 2-1 loss to Cardiff Met on Saturday in which two set pieces led to two goals for The Students. An area Druids will be focusing on tomorrow night. We too created enough chances to get back into the game and will be looking to be more clinical and show stronger concentration in tomorrow’s match.
Our last fixture of Phase 1 was against Aber at Park Avenue at the start of April. The Seasiders ultimately put the game to bed early with 3 first half goals. However, Druids showed resilience, getting one back late in the second half and continued pushing for another in an entertaining finale. Tomorrow’s match will be a chance for Druids to right those wrongs from our previous encounter and earn a much needed 3 points!
The squad has been rotated during Phase 2 due to the large amount of games, so it will be interesting to see how we decide to line up tomorrow. Josh Green and Iwan Cartwright are both hoping to be available which will provide more options for the coaching staff.
Druids are looking to finish the season as high as possible and have another opportunity tomorrow night to put in a good performance and build some confidence!
We keep going!
More than just a football club.
