Druids U19s v Llandudno

Another fine display and victory for our U19s the other day against Llandudno. Druids were composed in possession and ruthless in front of goal.

Llandundo gave a great account of themselves despite having only 10 men. Full credit to the visitors who were organised and difficult to break down. Druids had a high percentage of possession throughout the match and broke the deadlock after 8 mins. Jack Weston’s free kick was met by Joe Allman’s head, to make it 1-0. Dan Jolley added a great strike from outside the area to make it two. Dean Clarke fired in the third from a free kick. Following the break, Druids kept possession with patient build up play. Joise Fernandes added a goal to a fine display. Tomos Hughes got the fifth goal of the game, rising to meet a great cross by Dean Clarke after the visitors pulled one back.

Today was more about our approach to winning than winning the game itself. The lads have really changed their style of play in the last few matches to good effect. Both coaches are really pleased the players are taking information in, and performing on the pitch. Full credit to the players for a first class attitude in both training and matches, which is allowing them to develop. We dominated from start to finish through working the ball on the floor and making good decisions. It was a great game to watch.

More than just a football club
