Druids agree pre-contract deal with exciting midfielder Ignacio Giampaoli

Another great addition to the squad, exciting midfielder Ignacio Giampaoli, nicknamed ‘Colo’ has agreed to join Druids.
Originally from Argentina, Colo has already had a great career so far across a number of countries. Beginning his football at San Martín de Tucumán in the 2nd division of Argentina, Colo went on to spend time at Bournemouth’s academy in the UK before playing his senior football in the first division of both Guatemala and New Zealand. He had been playing in the top tiers in Greece before agreeing to sign for Druids.
A quick, nippy and technically gifted midfielder, Colo has impressed straight away in training and will be a welcome addition to the squad. We have agreed and signed a pre-contract deal with Colo as we await for his international clearance and registration to be approved before he makes his debut.
Our first question we had for him is how he got the nickname Colo!
“In Argentina people called me Colo because of the colour of my hair! The full word is Colorado which basically means ginger hair! Its quite uncommon in Argentina so my friends and family have always used this nickname for me and it just stuck!”
We did eventually get onto to asking him about the move;
“I am so excited to be part of such a historic and successful club. Being part of a club that has qualified for the Europa League in the past is an honour for me. In my opinion we have a very talented squad, and the coaching staff are working hard to get us where we should be.”
“From what I’ve seen, the Cymru Premier League is very competitive. I don’t think it is too far away from the English Football Leagues, there are many talented and experienced players which lift the level a lot. I am very excited to debut for the club and will give 100% to help get us where we deserve to be.”
Another signing in a short space of time has shown the ambition of the club to improve the squad and push us forward. We are determined to continue battling to close the gap on the bottom 6. Colo has already been working hard in training as we await his clearance, and we look forward to seeing him on the pitch soon.
Welcome to Druids!
More than just a football club.
