Dave ‘Pixie’ Taylor – Coach Profile

Pixie, born and growing up locally in Wrexham is a well-known figure around the Druids community.
He has almost 20 years of experience playing within the Welsh Football Pyramid including a season for the Druids in 1999/2000. He’s played for a number of Welsh teams including Porthmadog, Newtown, Holywell Town, Conwy United and Inter Cardiff.
The highlight of his playing career came in 1994 where he won the prestigious European Golden Boot, during his spell at Porthmadog in the Welsh Premier League, where he scored 43 goals in 38 league games. More current Golden Boot winners include Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. Following his record-breaking season, he moved to Inter Cardiff and featured in their Europa league campaign against GKS Katowice of Poland.
Following his football career, he managed one of his former teams Caersws FC in the Welsh Premier League before becoming assistant and first team coach here at Druids, where he has remained for almost 8 years.
Pixie is a well-liked character amongst the first team staff and players and offers valuable experience and insight into Welsh football, especially when he decides to get the boots on and join in training!
