It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Jayson Starkey has stepped down from his coaching duties and as a Director of the club with immediate effect.
This ends a 10 year association with Druids which culminated in Starkey stepping in to manage the first team during the back end of the lockdown.
“From 1st November 2021 I will be stepping down from all roles within the club including my position as director of the club” said Jayson Starkey.
“I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank everyone for the support they have shown me over the 10 years I have been here. I would like to thank the Chairman Des Williams for his support and the trust he has shown me over his time at the club and allowing me the honour to lead the club last season. I wish everyone involved in Cefn Druids the very best and thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Cefn Druids and The Rock will always be a very special place for myself and I wish the club nothing but the best for the future” Starkey added.
Druids Chairman, Des Williams said “I’m saddened to see Jayson go. His help and guidance through the transition from John Hughes’s reign to my tenure wouldn’t have been as smooth had he not been a significant part of it and for that I thank him. Whatever he decides to do in the future, I wish him all the very best and he will always be welcome at the football club”.
We thank Starkey for everything he has done for the club and wish him well for the future.
More than just a football club.
