Cefn Druids Charge Found Proven

A charge against Cefn Druids Football Club has been found proven by a Football Association of Wales Appeals Panel, following a breach of FAW Rule 38.1.9 for bringing the game of Association Football and/or the Association into disrepute.

It was alleged that players and/or club officials were allegedly in the clubhouse consuming alcohol, not socially distanced and/or not wearing facemasks as required in the Welsh Government’s Coronavirus Regulations, whilst Wales was at Alert Level 4. The alleged incident took place following the friendly match between Cefn Druids and Airbus UK Broughton played on Saturday, 27 February 2021.

The FAW Appeals Panel considered written and photographic evidence in determining that the charge be found proven. As a result, Cefn Druids were fined £5,000, of which £4,000 is to remain suspended for one year and only payable if found proven of a similar breach to the FAW’s Return to Play Protocol and/or the Welsh Government’s Coronavirus Regulations.
