BRUNO LOPES NAMED AS DRUIDS NEW HEAD COACH

Cefn Druids FC are delighted to announce that Bruno Lopes has become the Ancients new Head Coach.

The Portuguese Head Coach has agreed a two year contract to take charge at The Rock until 2022 and he immediately jumps into the job with the challenging trip to Haverfordwest at the weekend.

“We have known about Bruno for some time and when we found out that he was suddenly available, we immediately took the opportunity to make contact and I’m pleased to have him onboard” said Druids Chairman Des Williams.

Lopes was the former Portimonense U23’s Head Coach and caretaker Head Coach for the Portuguese Primeira Liga side this season. His coaching style and philosophy of play fits in perfectly with the club and his desire to bring in young and hungry players is just what the Druids Board are looking for.

The 36 year old Lopes has a CV of success that includes a stint in the USA and he has worked with and coached some of the brightest talents in Europe. Druids are looking to the future and Lopes has already expressed his desire to get the club playing in the top 6 and pressing for European spots.

“We would like to thank all of our supporters for their patience and for the support they have given to Jayson Starkey and the backroom staff during this difficult transition period and we are confident that Bruno and the team will bring us the success the club so richly deserves” added Williams.
