Academy Weekend Fixtures Report

With the resumption of football after the holiday break, we had another great round of fixtures for our academy sides against Flint Town. All our age groups have been showing noticeable development in their individual and team play which has been great to see!

A great performance by the whole team and it looked like the lads were enjoying being back playing football! Man of the Match has to go to Jack Jenkinson. Playing left back throughout the match, Jack was solid the whole way through. He eventually had to come off after being accidentally injured by the referee! Regardless, a great performance. Well done Jack!

It was a big challenge for the lads after one centre back was injured in the warm up, and another after 10 minutes! However, they never gave up and a big congratulations to the team for sticking together seeing it through. Man of the Match to Olly Hett, who had to play out of position at centre back after the injuries and was excellent throughout. Well done Olly!

Man of the Match was Theo Williams. Theo played his best individual performance so far this season. He played at a high intensity without the ball and when he won it, retained it well. An excellent performance. Hats off to the whole team as well for their work rate and desire throughout the match, doing the club proud.

Another very solid performance by the whole team who are showing more and more maturity and football knowledge which has been great to see. This was exemplified by Man of the Match Joe Colley. He keeps everything simple in the middle of the park and can go unnoticed at times, but his performances have always been consistent, and it was great to see him add two goals today. Well done lads!

Overall, it was great to have our academy sides back playing after the holiday break and to see some outstanding individual and team performances. We’d like to give a big thank you to Flint Town for the fixtures.

More than just a football club.
