U11s Match report
Cefn Druids 0-3 Mold Alexander

First 15 minutes and not much separated both teams as the first 15 minutes was a physical battle in the middle and neither team could find any chances.

The second 15 minutes, and after a few changes, Druids started the second half playing the better football but struggled to break Mold Down as they defended well and Druids gained a couple of corners which didn’t result into anything and Mold picked up the loose ball and counter attacked down the left hand side which resulted in Mold going 1-0 up.

Once again Druids started really well looking like they were gonna fetch the game back to 1-1 but unfortunately couldn’t take any chances and struggled to break the Mold back line down. Mold however played a long ball down the left hand side and managed to keep it in and crossed it and got a shot off goal which our GK saved but Mold got onto the rebound and hit a fierce shot going into the top right hand corner and Druids GK some how managed to get up and jump to the other side and get a touch on the ball which he should have never gotten too which resulted in a corner and all Parents from both clubs clapping there hands because of the save. The corner however kept us penned back and gave Mold 4 corners in a row which in the end didn’t result to anything.

Final 15minutes and we tried to get back into the game we changed tactics and tried to put more up top to help over load Mold however this was risky but unfortunately caused us to concede 2 goals in the last 5 minutes as we was trying everything to get a result but unfortunately ended up on the wrong end of the score line.

Lots of positive to take from the game which was end to end.

U12s Match report
Cefn Druids 1-3 FAW

The game was really well contested by both teams and was very evenly matched with the young Druids going really well during the first half keeping the score all even after a wonder save by the druids keeper to deny the FAW then the first quarter of the second half we conceded but we didn’t let it effect us as we picked ourselves up and was raring to go again.

We got back into the game from a brilliant set piece that produced a fantastic goal by our winger as the lads where now back in the game 1-1, but a mistake from the back put FAW ahead as the only thing that let us down after they scored their second goal was the willingness to keep going and concentrate. We have a lot of positives to take away from the game we held our own and didn’t let them play the way they wanted. When we play them again we need to approach it differently, but now it’s to Airbus if we can play a full game like we have the first half of today and the first half of the match against Airbus last week we can come away with 3 points. Well done to the lads.

U14s Match Report
Cefn Druids 5 – 1 FAW

A really positive start from Druids seen us gain an early foothold in the game. We looked sharp and positive in possession and began creating early chances by playing round and through the opposition with speed. A well worked move on the right hand side saw Theo unselfishly square the ball for Harrison to put us ahead and Theo then scored 2 goals himself to give us a 3-0 half time lead.

The opposition fired back at the start of the second half with a superb free kick and started to gather some confidence. However, we showed great maturity to manage this period of the game which then allowed us to regain full control and create plenty of chances in the last 15 minutes. Osian buried a wonderful free kick and Tom scored after some great combination play down the right hand side. Another great performance from the boys to make it 6 games unbeaten with 5 wins and a draw in 2023!
