Academy Fixtures Report

Our academy sides played Newtown over the weekend. Some great individual and team performances on show and a great day of football.

A great result from our U9s, winning 8-3. Some excellent goals scored from the lads and quality build up play throughout. They are improving week on week which has been great to see.

Another great result, winning 9-2. The lads were clinical in front of goal and some outstanding strikes to give us the win. Everyone put in a big shift for the team, was great to see their work rate and team spirit throughout!

A very entertaining match for our 11s, ending in a 4-4 draw. Newtown were a very competitive side and it ended up being a great match up. Credit to our Druids boys for not giving up and trying to grab a winner late on.

The best performance of the season so far from our 15s, winning 4-0. The build up play from the back was outstanding and we constantly looked a threat going forward. We will continue practicing our finishing in training as we could of had a few more!

A tough 6-3 loss for our 19s on the weekend. We were missing a lot of lads being away, but Newtown punished us in the first half, taking the commanding lead. However, a much improved second half as we came back and we could of easily got something out of the game if we took our chances a bit better. The lads will be looking to bounce back next weekend.

A great set of fixtures overall and some fine performances by Druids. Well done all.

More than just a football club.
